To whoever is reading this,
I am a 10th grade student at Northern high school and for my civics and economics project I wrote about these three political beliefs.
I have mixed feelings about abortion. I believe that if a woman gets raped, she should have the choice to get an abortion. Also if a woman finds out when she is pregnant, that her baby is going to be severely mentally retarded or has no chance of surviving, she should get an abortion so that the baby won’t suffer when he or she is born. I’m also kind of against it too. I believe that if a sixteen-year-old gets pregnant, she shouldn’t get an abortion because there are many mothers out there who would love to adopt that baby. I also believe that abortion should NOT be used as a birth control.
I’m for the death penalty. I believe the purpose of the death penalty is to remove someone from society who would cause more harm, to deter others from committing crime, to punish the criminal, and to take retribution on behalf of the victim.
I’m against the war in Iraq. I believe the U.S should withdraw its troops from Iraq because it would save the lives of many American troops and allow them to go home. It may also motivate terrorists to stop attacking innocent civilians in Iraq. Also, Iraq is no longer the direct threat to the U.S that was under Saddam, and so we have no business fighting in its civil war.

#6 lab last thing that i had to do with it!!!!!

For the items, I was required to put them in a box and seal it off and put a date on it and open it on that date. So I stuck the pics of the items in the box and stuck it in my attic. I was originally going to bury it in my backyard, but my dad didnt want to dig a hole in the yard so he told me to go stick it in the attic, so I did.

This is a picture of "Octo Mom." She is pregnant with eight babies. This is important because in the year 2009, scientists created this thing were you could get pregnant with more than one child. She did this because she wanted to have her own tv show like Kate Gosslin and make alot of money from doing it.

I think she did the wrong thing because it really is dangerous have more than three babies at once but thats just my opinion.

Lab #6 time capsule item 9

This is a picture of Kate Gosslin from the tv series Jon and Kate plus 8. Kate has been in the news alot because her husband Jon cheated on her. This is important because its like tabloid nws that has been going around. She somehow manges her 8 kids by herself and I find that really impressive.

I used to watch Jon and Kate plus 8 all the time but now simce there divorced i stopped watching it because the media pretty much ruined it for me haha

This is a newspaper. It tells us from topics about how the Carolina Panthers are doing to the weather to the stock market. It also keeps me updated about how our community is doing.

I don't really read they paper that much but I need to read it more.

This is a picture of Michael Jackson. He recently died this summer. In my generation he was known for molesting little boys and making his kids wear masks when they were out in public. In my parents generation he was the man!! He created hits like "Thriller", "Billie Jean", "Smooth Criminal", and "Beat it" Ect. He was also known for creating the moonwalk and the legendary one glove

I saw the Michael Jackson "This is it" movie. Simply Amazing!!

Its the new trend nowadays to go green and protect the enviroment. Honda created a car that was energy sufficent and didn't pollute the air with carbon dioxide from the exhaust pipe. It also has a 45 mpg tank so you save alot of money from getting gas every week.

This is my mom's hot ride. I love this car because theres a sirius radio in it!!!

Starbucks Coffee is the leading coffee in the United States and maybe the entire world. They use top quality coffee beans imported from places like Brazil. Not only in the coffee extremley good, its a great place to hang out in because they have a wireless internet service that is completely free.

I don't normally drink Starbucks Coffee that much because its a bit expensive ,but when I do go I enjoy it very much.

Lab #6 time capsule item 2

In the year 2001, Apple created the ipod. This model here can hold up to at least 9,000 songs, 500 vidoes, and alot of pictures. A new thing is now decorating the ipod by putting on fancy cover and cases to proctect the ipod from getting scratched. I got that sticker cover at Urban Outfitters.
This is the number one item that I use all the time to listen to my favorite bands and to help me get through all my homework.

Lab #6: Time Capsule Item 1

In the year 2009, fashion is a big part of today's culture. Name brands and designer brands make up most of what we wear. Brands include Abercrombie, American Eagle, Converse, UGG, Hollister, and Ed Hardy. The picture on the left is an UGG boot. These are the shoes that most girls were on a regular basis because they keep your feet warm and are very comfortable.

My opinion of UGG boot is that I find them really annoying and extremly expensive. Every girl at Northern has a pair and who ever created tem named them right hahah

#10 lab day 8!!!!!! LAST DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is the last day of the #10 lab. Thank you Lord!!!! I'm so ready to start a new lab and try something new.
I need to reflect of what this week was like without media so I finally came to this conclusion:
I rarely ever watch televison or go on Facebook during schoolnights because I'm so busy doing homework and getting ready for school the next day that I simply don't have time for it.
I did a couple of times this week mess up but I'm blaming my mom and dad for it because it wasn't my fault, haha.
I know there is some people in this world who are addicted to media ,but with me that's not the case.
I'm glad that I had the opportunity to try it because it was a pretty neat experiance for me.
Well, I'm going to go help out my sister look all 80's for decade day tommorow.

#10 lab day 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I used absolutely no media!!! I was at the fair all day with my special somebody and his family. It was so much fun!! After that, we went out to eat with his family and a couple of his mom and dad's friends at this sports bar to watch the Wake Forest game. I didn't watch it because I didn't care about the game and because I was too busy talking and laughing.
I can't wait to do another project because this ones getting old. I would like to go on my facebook and upload those pictures from the Northwest dance. I would also like to watch the news while eating dinner without feeling guilty about it. I would also like to watch a football game tomorrow.
Well, I'm pretty much exhausted right now because I had a really fun and busy day today. I can'
t wait to relax and go to lacrosse practice tommorow.

#10 lab day 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im so glad its the weekend!!!! I hate getting up and going to school every morning :(
ANYWAY, in case you haven't heard, the Northern football team won their big game tonight, so I had to bend the rule a little bit and watch the highlights of it on Friday Night Football.
I'm getting tired of doing this everyday because I do have way more important things I should be doing like practicing scales in band or studying but no
I have to do this instead!!!!
I dont have that much to say tonite so I'm just going to go.

#10 lab day 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did much better today than I did yesterday. I watched absoulutely no t.v while i was eating dinner. Mostly because I was talking to my parents about what I should volunteer for 5 hours.
We concluded nothing although we already figured my senior project. I plan to have a foster home for kittens who need to be adopted. I cant wait!! It's going to be so much fun playing with them and cuddling with them.
ANYWAY, since without media my life has been kinda the same because I'm always busy with band and doing homework that I don't have much time with anything else. The only thing that has been hard is watching no news while eating dinner. I don't read magazines alot unless it's the Rolling Stone and we haven't gotten a new issue yet, so I'm good with that. I don't listen to the radio that much because I ride the bus to school and when my mom picks me up from marching band, I'm too busy talking about my day and what's going on that I forget to turn it on.
Well, I think I covered pretty much everything so I'm just going to go and chill out.

#10 lab day 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had even less homework than the day before. I'm so on a roll!!!!! To tell you the truth, I'm just so-so good at being anti-media, as I thought I would be. Everytime I eat dinner the news is on! Grrrrr... if I get a bad grade for not being anti-media, I'm going to blame it on my parents. BUT, I haven't been listening to the radio so its still going good on that. News is everywhere I look. I can't help it. It's so hard to avoid and so tempting to read and listen to!!! I need to try everything I can to avoid it!!

#10 lab day 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's homework situation wasn't as bad as yesterdays. Anyway, I messed up today...I watched "Entertainment Tonight" on t.v while eating a slice of pizza. Wasn't my fault!! My mom understands that I can't use media this whole week. The rest of my family, however, doesn't understand that I can't watch it. So, insted of respecting it, they have to go and turn on the Panthers game full gale and I have to go up to my room and talk on the phone.

It wasn't so bad because I was talking to my special somebody, and it was actually kind of fun.
Well, I'm done for tonight because I need to go and call him back!!!

#10 lab day two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lord have mercy, I've never had so much homework as I did tonight. Teachers need to lay off Monday nights when we are exhausted from sleeping in during the weekend and then having to wake up at the crack of dawn. Anyway, enough with the my moaning and complaining let's do what I came her for and that is this project!!


I didn't listen to the radio when I was driving home from my philosphy club because I was too busy talking to my mom. We talked about how everybody uses the term "that's so gay" and how it could be very offensive to the people who actually are gay.
ANYWAY, I didn't go on the internet or read a magazine. I did read the "Consumer Report Magazine" while I was eating a blueberry pop tart for breakfast, but I don't think that really counts because I was reading the article that had to do with what is better: name brand products or store brand products?
Anyway I'm going to go relax and go listen to my ipod. Goodnight Mr. Hultberg or whoever is reading this blog and stalking me. :D

Lab #10 Day One!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to my guidelines that Mr. Hultberg gave, I'm supposed to go one full week without using media which means NO tv, Facebook, radio or magazines. Today is Sunday and this little project ends next sunday (9\27-10\4) so I might as well talk about today and my anti media-ness.

Today I slept in to 11 because yesterday I went to the Northwest Homecoming dance with a special somebody. No names provided and I'd like to keep it that way please!!
Anyway, my mom wanted me to check my Facebook for the pics my friennds took for last night but I couldn't cause I'm anti media remeber, and plus I wasn't in the mood. Honestly I had such fun and exciting math worksheets that I just couldn't resist doing and I had lacrosse practice after that so I didn't have time doing media. I used Microsoft Word for type up a memior, but I don't think that counts for English . I had to go on the internet to type this blog but I don't think that counts either.
....Thank God that my cellular device isn't considered media or I would run away from home!!!!!!! Off to talk to someone special. I guess my first day with media wasn't so bad after all. Good night Mr. Hulberg!

Hello there!

This is my first day of having a blog. I'm calling it Bailey's Excellent Blog Adventure. Over the next few weeks or months, I'm going to be doing a series of mini projects for Mr. Hulberg's Civics and Economics class. This is going to take some time doing, but I'm pretty sure its going to be a pretty interesting experience.
